As a merchandiser I want to boost the relevance of a specific product when it shows up in a search result so I can get more visibility on it
When search there are times that a retailer wants to "force" something to be more relevant then it would be other wise to support marketing efforts and product uptake
Furniture Row has mentioned this is a higher priority.
FR has started using popularity sort in most categories and they are looking for ways to bring up certain products to the top of the search results even though they have no popularity score. eg: new products, a product which has been added to a special sale.
They are thinking of these as "featured products". It could be a flag at the product level.
